The Mid City Drifters are a New Orleans based band with a haunting yet danceable rockabilly vibe, fronted by vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Ron Hotstream. "My goal when I write is to continue to build the best possible hybrid of all the things I love to play. That includes rockabilly, surf, jump blues, murder ballads, classic trucker country, spaghetti western themes and even film noir soundtracks."
Ron Hotstream and the Mid City Drifters always make an impression on their audiences with their tight grooves and retro sound, Ron’s rich, resonant baritone , and their outstanding musicianship and showmanship. Fans end up dancing, stomping their feet and having a great time at their high energy shows, which are frequented by other New Orleans musicians who love what they’re doing. Hotstream is a veteran of the New Orleans music scene and has performed all over the world. He has toured in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Holland, Denmark, and Uganda, and throughout the Southern U.S. He has also performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Bayou Boogaloo, and Bayou Country Superfest in Baton Rouge.

"It's always an honor to share the stage with Ron Hotstream. A true professional, he's got a deep understanding of Mid Century American music's rich history of song craft, and he's always surprising with what he chooses to play."

"I've been onstage with Ron many times over many years. He's one of my favorite guitar players in the city. A musician's musician. He can play any style, plays it with heart, and is the real deal."
Mark Miller, Charted country music artist.
"As a former band-mate of Ron’s, one of his greatest attributes is that he elevates the ability of those he plays with. This is a direct reflection of both his broad knowledge of music theory and his ability to imprint that knowledge on his students."
Eric Pitts, keyboard player with many New Orleans area bands.
